IMPACT Conference

The IMPACT Conference is historically the largest annual conference focused on the civic engagement of college students in community service, service-learning, community-based research, advocacy and other forms of social action. Building on the rich 32-year tradition of the COOL Conference and the Idealist Campus Conference, IMPACT is the one time during the year when students, administrators, faculty, AmeriCorps members and VISTAs, and nonprofit professionals gather together to learn and share effective practices, improve personal skills and organizational strategies, discover opportunities and resources, exchange stories, are inspired and challenged to sustain our efforts.

Every year, CSC opens up applications for students to be part of our delegation. As part of the CSC delegation, you will have access to over 90 workshops, various opportunities to learn about effective practices, improve personal skills and organizational strategies, discover resources, exchange stories, and be inspired. This conference is open to all students.

In 2023, CSC sent a delegation of 27 UCLA students to the University of Massachusetts-Amherst from February 23rd – 26th, who attended a variety of workshops, including a ‘Climate Justice Panel’ ‘Successful Group Projects: Deconstructing Charity and Building Mutual Aid’. CSC was tasked with planning the logistics and itinerary of the entire trip, and our Service Education Director also created and facilitated her own workshop on ‘Exploring the Intersection of Aid and Advocacy in Ethical Service’
