We are best buddies

Best Buddies

“Best Buddies is a a volunteer-based organization focused on providing opportunities to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) with opportunities that they might not otherwise have. Since it was established in 1990, the UCLA chapter of Best Buddies has facilitated one-on-one friendships between college students and people with IDD, hosted fun, inclusive, and accessible events on and off campus, and advocated for respect and inclusion for people with disabilities.”

Commitment Required:

Twice per month for an academic year

Ways to Get Involved:

We accept member applications on a rolling basis throughout the year!

Leadership Opportunities:

Anyone in Best Buddies has the opportunity to intern with our board of directors during Spring quarter of each year, and returning members can apply to be directors. Throughout the year, we also have planning and logistics committees that are open to everyone, so interested members can get more involved with preparation for big events and with large advocacy events like our annual Spread the Word to End the Word campaign.
